So I’ve given up cherry coke for a month. I actually didn’t think I’d notice it that much.
I’ve had a headache for the past couple of days and managed to comepletely knock myself out for yesterday by staying up late on Tuesday.
Today I’m REALLY feeling the cold and am getting tired at the drop of a hat.
Does this sound like caffeine withdrawal to anyone else?
I mean, I’m still drinking tea and I’ve had a couple of cans of diet coke in the last couple of weeks.
One day I shall write a scintillating blog entry.
It’s not how caffeine withdrawal used to hit me. The headache, yeah. The rest, no.
Well, it is really cold.
Have you been replacing all the sugar in your diet that you usually get from the Cherry Coke?
Ahh, sugar…now that is a point. Can you get sugar withdrawal?
Yes, I do believe so – since you can get addicted to it, logically sugar withdrawal should be quite noticeable too.
I had a pretty bad orange juice habit at one point, to the degree that 3 days without orange juice would have me pacing the floor, unable to concentrate and shaking a bit. Don’t know whether that was the sugar of something else, it may just be that the body reacts badly to the loss of ANY substance it’s used to receiving in large amounts.
I don’t know that it counts as withdrawal, but sugar is, y’know, energy intake. Reducing your energy intake gives you less to burn for, say, internal heat, and means your body burns reserve storees and encourages you to slow down.
