Ok. So The Jellicle and I and currently a fluctuating group of people will be heading down to Manchester next Saturday on the 10.38 from Lancaster (which changes at Preston – departs Preston at 11.10) this should arrive in Manchester about an ahour before the Parade begins, hopefully leaving us enough time to get a reasonable spot along Deansgate. We’ll be catching the train back to Lancaster at some point after the parade, last year there were 86 floats so this could be quite a bit later!
Now, just to correct a lot of people’s assumptions – you do not need a ticket to watch the parade. It’s a Parade, sure it’s the Pride Parade but the point is to do it out in the open. You don need a ticket for The Big Weekend which is the celebration at the end of Pride Week, but my intention is to go down and enjoy the parade. I’ve already had some interest in getting a group of us together to march in it next year so I’ll be picking up some info on that and working out if we can do it…
I’m really excited about this, my first Pride in this country. I intend to be wearing my bi badge and waving my bi flag!
