This one was an easy prompt, I knew exactly the photo. It’s from Lancaster’s first Pride.
There’s me and a number of nerdy queers wearing t-shirts that I had made with queer versions of the LURPS dragon on them.
The sign I’m wielding is in support of the Georgian LGBT organisation that was at the time trying to get in particular, gay men out of the country as they were being rounded up tortured and sometimes killed. One of the charities that the Pride supported that year was a Georgian one partly because I’d pushed for it.
The situation in Georgia now is not much better unfortunately.
But I’m proud of this photo, that Lancaster has a regular Pride, the t-shirts I made, my friends marching, and that I tried to help.
