I think there are an awful lot of things about people generally that I don’t understand and that absolutely goes for our lovely Quiltbag too.
However, I think one thing that I continue to be amazed by and want to know about is how did you manage to get yourself out there before it was socially acceptable? Hell before it was legal? How did you find each other when we weren’t allowed to talk about it openly?
I mean those younger than me are weirded out by the notion of not being open about it at school… but at least the concept of keep quiet until you’re out of the house and at uni join the Queer society makes sense.
How did you find each other Queer elders? How did you manage to out yourself to the right people and not the wrong ones and what happened when you fucked up!
Christ, just, how did you manage?
